This year's teacher gifts

I give the kids' teachers little treats throughout the school year. I love picking up little treats while in the checkout at Wal Mart and having the kids take their teachers little treats on just random school days. So, I don't feel the need to do something extravagant at the end of the year. This year I picked up these cute jars from Fred's. I had the vinyl initials put on them and then filled them with my aunt's delicious caramel puffcorn. They look a bit fallish but that's OK. My aunt sent some of this caramel puffcorn to my mother and I sampled it when they were here for Easter. I asked for the recipe then googled caramel puffcorn and found the exact one online. This is it. I highly recommend it. Very addicting!

Jars-$3.50
Letters-$2.50

Eggs-stremely late

I'm so late with all these Easter pictures! These were taken at the kids' egg hunt at the church.

Arts Festival

The Second Grade class performed at the district arts festival a couple of weeks ago. They sang some cute songs they had been learning throughout the year on the 7 Habits of Leadership. They did a great job!

Every student in the district had art work on display. Here is Michael with his portrait of
Martin Luther King Jr.

And a vase of flowers.

I'm not sure what this was.

Mallory wrote a book of poems called, "I'm a poet and didn't know it!"

May Day

The kindergarten class recently read a book entitled May Day. They all released balloons with their name and the school address on them. We have received two letters at the school from people who have found them.

I got to wear it again!

This past week was Fairy Tale Week for our preschoolers. On Friday they dressed up as their favorite fairy tale character. I pulled out this bridesmaid dress from my friend Teresa's wedding. She got married in June of 1990. It was a bit tight but I was still able to wear it for the costume parade. It was fun putting it on again after 23 years!
