Family Easter Pix

I haven't had a chance to post any pictures from Easter so I will try to catch up this week. This was our family on Easter Sunday morning. We traded in our traditional Easter duds for costumes for The Easter Song, the musical we presented that morning. I was the only one in regular clothes as I helped with the drama and wasn't actually in the production. Paul played King Herod and the kids were townspeople.

Chris Tomlin and some sweets

Chris Tomlin put on an awesome concert at the conference. He was so sweet natured too. I didn't realize how many worship songs he had written! It was just so fabulous to hear him do them all live

Also pictured here is the chocolate fountain at Golden Corral, a brown sugar pound cake I made for our friends who kept the kids all day Sunday when Paul was sick and I was away. And a cookie pizza I made for Michael's class to celebrate his summer birthday.

Circle Up

We're on our way to the Women of Joy conference in the Gatlinburg area. We met at the church at 530 this morning to board our coach for the 7 hour drive. Before we left we circled up for prayer. One of the husband's snapped this photo from the porch of the parsonage.

"My momma had eight kids..."

Paul's family's reunion was this weekend. When we first got married he would say "my momma had eight kids" all the time. Like when I made a dessert and he wasn't that interested he'd say "my momma had eight kids and we just didn't have a lot of sweets" ...stuff like that. Here's a picture of the eight kids from yesterday's festivities:

This is the birth order but not the order in the picture:
Bruce 1949
Joey 1950
John 1951
Doreen 1955
Fred 1957
Mary 1958
Paul 1959
Annette 1964

The Crab Trap

We ate at The Crab Trap our last night at the beach. I always loved this place but it wasn't as good to me this time. Usually its super busy and teeming with kids but we got there pretty early and it was dead. Just made it not as fun. Paul and I decided to share this big shrimp plate and it wasn't that great either. So I was a bit disappointed. Might not go there again for a long time.

Hotel Pool Fun

The kids having fun in the hotel pool while Paul golfs with one of his brothers.

Small World Story

My best friend in jr high was a girl named Valerie Lambert. We were super close and I remember her dad went to LSU and was from Louisiana. Her parents came to our wedding and while we were taking pictures her dad said "I knew Paul must be a good guy, I'm from Kinder." Paul is from Oberlin LA and Kinder is ten miles down the road. They are both towns of about 2000. Mr. Lambert told Paul and his brothers that Lambert Park in Kinder was named from his family. Today I took the kids there to play.

Early Morning Beach Time

We headed out to the beach around 730 to have our coffee. The kids immediately started playing in the sand and water. They love it.

Just Discovered

The Blogger App! So easy to post with my phone!! Will be doing that a lot more now. I enjoy posting on this blog but only if it's simple. I used to go to my Picassa account, click a few pictures and then click the Blogger icon. Well it has disappeared so now it's not as easy to post. This will make it fun again but the pix will only be as good as my iPhone camera. Oh well.

Happy Easter!

I love this scripture. When people say "He is Risen" on Easter most people reply, "He is risen indeed" but I like to say "just as he said". I think it's so awesome that the angel says that when Mary and the others are wondering what happened to Jesus' body. Jesus said he would rise and now he has. I love that.

Praising the Lord for what today means to me and millions of other followers of Jesus. Thank you for dying for us and for rising from the dead to save us from our sins. I love you!
