Sea World Fun

The kids' favorite part was 'petting' the stingrays. They also got soaking wet in the kiddie splash area. Paul and I loved the dolphin and shamu shows.

The Plagues-yikes!

The guy who told the story of the ten plagues of Egypt asked me to do some posters for him to show while he taught the kids at VBS last week. They came out pretty cute I thought. I'm missing one here, can't remember which one right now! Oh yes, darkness! It was just a black poster board with white eyes showing thru!

Awww, shucks!

We've been blessed with some wonderful produce from several friends' gardens this summer. Thankfully I had a good group to help with this load of corn we were given!!

Playing Catch Up!

I finally uploaded the pictures from my camera so I will try to put up a few posts to catch up on the latest summer fun!

These were taken during the July 4th parade in East Prairie. I walked along side the float giving out candy and flyers inviting kids to our VBS and Paul rode in the parade so I don't have many photos of the actual parade. It was fun but way too hot! This parade is the biggest one of the three that EP does every year.

We're going to Disney World!

We had a trip scheduled to Disney with my dad next week. It was going to be just us and him and we were so thrilled about it. Well even though he can't make it he still wants us to go. So, we're off to see the mouse as my dad says! I'm probably more excited than anyone in the family as I have been doing all the research on line and that really gets you in the spirit of things. I can't wait to see the kids' reaction as they experience everything Walt Disney World has to offer!! My dad is so generous to treat us to a trip like this. It would only have been better with him along...

Busy with VBS

We're having Bible school this week so it's a busy one. It starts at 6 and we feed the kids dinner. The kitchen crew has it down to a science with all the meals brown bagged so it's easy to pass them out. They've had burgers, dogs and sandwiches so far. Tonight they get nachos and tomorrow it's corn dogs. They feed us volunteers too which has made this a great no-cook week for me! All week we're working on a kids' musical which will be performed Sunday night. I'm helping with that each night which is a change from my past years in the craft room. We had 71 kids Tuesday night so it's lots of activity!! I only have this one little photo to post of Michael playing Joseph during the story time Monday night. I'll try to post more soon!

Daddy Update

I am happy and thankful to report that my daddy is doing much much better and is expected to make a full recovery. He will be in the hospital another week but is hoping to be strong enough to make his already scheduled trip to the US at the end of the month rather than on the 13th as was planned. Thank you for your prayers and we give God all the glory for this miracle~!

Heat Wave

You have got to be kidding me...

Happy 4th and a prayer request

Paul rose his mower in the town Fourth of July parade on Wednesday. He had always wanted to do it and said it was a lot of fun!

On another note, my dad is in the hospital in New Zealand and is very sick. We were told it was dire and my brother got a ticket and was on his way when Daddy had a turn for the better! Praise the Lord! Bud still flew to NZ last night but it's under much better circumstances. Daddy has swelling in the brain which had led to him not being able to walk or talk. He has a lot of infection, shingles, myopathy, a little bit of early stages of Parkinson's etc. We were all so worried but after a wonderful outpouring of prayer he got better in one day!! Thank you Jesus! We are all supposed to go to Disney in a little over two weeks. Doesn't look like he will be going with us if we go at all. Will you pray for my dad if you think of him? Thank you!!!

Father's Day Dinner

Paul wanted Italian for his Father's Day treat. A friend suggested Bella Italia in Cape Girardeau and we really enjoyed it. Afterwards we walked down to the river. The kids love touching the water:)
