M-M- good

I love these pictures of Michael eating corn on the cob for the first time. He loved it! I hadn't given him any before because of his caps but this was so tender and I cut it down the middle of each row of kernels so it was easy to bite off. We have this triple sweet corn here that is so delicious. Paul prefers the yellow big kernel kind. Michael is obviously with me on liking this one.

a ride on the Hoppy Horses

Paul and his family call the carousel or merry go 'round Hoppy Horses. Yes, it must be a southwest Louisiana thing. Jennifer and Avery-Kayte (who looks like she could be Michael's sister) and Michael and I went out to dinner last week when we were in Montgomery and then went to the mall to ride the hoppy horses. It was Avery-Kayte's first time! Afterwards the kids enjoyed the hopscotch game on the floor at Penney's. Ahhh, entertainment for little kids. You gotta love it.

Gallatin Detour

On our way to Montgomery we stopped by to visit my good friend Jo Ann and her family in Gallatin, TN just north of Nashville. They are always sweet to put us up for the night when we want to break up our trip to Alabama. Here Mallory and Michael are enjoying some pool time with Mike and Jo Ann's son Joseph.

Michael and his two year old contemporaries

Several of my good friends and I were all due around the same time when I was pregnant with Michael. I got to see a lot of them and their two year olds when we were in Montgomery last week.

Michael with Andrew, Ashley's son, who turns 2 this week! We got to celebrate with him at his froggie party!

Here is Michael with Marylynn's daughter, Holland. She turned two in February.

Michael with his cousin Eli who was born eight days before him. Eli is my friend Ronda's son.

Here are Michael and Jackson, my friend Cindy's son. Jackson is a couple weeks older than Michael.

These little twin cuties are my friend Leigh's daughters. Sarah and Rachael are a couple weeks younger than Michael.

High School Reunion

My 25 year class reunion was so much fun.. I loved getting to see everyone and catch up after all these years. What was so neat to me was that everyone just knew each other at first glance. Like I would say "Hi Rick" and Rick would say "Hi Tammy" just like we did back in 1984. Here are a few pix from the other night. With Eric and Larry, my two best buds in the class; some of us girls; Tina; and Michele and me. I love all these people. They are still dear friends.

another zoo day

We went to the Montgomery zoo with Opa and Oma again this trip. The weather was perfect and not the normal 90+ degree temps you usually have in Alabama in July.

The kids and I are in Montgomery for my 25 year class reunion. I was a graduate of the Hooper Academy Class of '84 and had a really great senior year. I'm so glad Stephanie and Tracie put together this little shindig. Can't wait to see everyone on Saturday night. Here are a few pix I took off our yahoo groups page that was set up for the class.

That's me in the middle row, far right. What's with that staring up in the air pose?

My best friend in the class, Rachael. See my add-a-bead necklace? Those things were all the rage.

At the junior/senior prom with my then boyfriend, Brent. He was in our class also. I loved that Victor Costa dress!

This is half our class picture. There were 42 in all.

10-ha!

So this is me back in 8th grade in 1980. That movie 10 with Bo Derek was popular and I got my aunt to braid my hair like Bo's. It took her 10 hours, we did some at night and some the next morning. I went to Eastdale Mall and found this shirt to wear to school the last day of the year. I think I yanked these braids out after like three days. Poor Aunt Carole and all her hard work. She posted this pic on her facebook page and I copied it from there. She said it wore her out doing it. I bet it did. What a great aunt to go thru all that for me! Thanks again almost 30 years later AC!

Growing up

Michael's friend Grayson (and his mommy Susan and brother Gavin) came over this week for their annual playdate. We really get together more than once a year but this July playdate marks their third time since meeting. Susan's birthday is also in July so we always make it a birthday party for her too. Any excuse for cake.

Soccer tryouts

Mallory is playing soccer for the first time this fall. We decided on Upward soccer since we had heard such good things from friends. Since this will be Mallory's first sports experience we wanted it to be a positive one. She had to be evaluated on Saturday so they can place them with similar kids. She did great and had a fun time.

The Ice Cream Man

Today the kids had their first experience with the ice cream man. (Too bad they didn't have any clothes on for the photo op.) This guy Tyler goes to church with us so he drove by our street just for Mallory and Michael. We have no other little kids on the street so there has never been an ice cream truck before now. They had fun picking out their ice cream and I had to take pictures of course.
