YoYo was here!

Our good friend Yoyo from the Frankfort church came for a visit this weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed her and had a big time going to Lambert's, shopping and worshipping with her Sunday. We love YoYo!

Spring is Busting Out All Over

Our yard is looking so beautiful and we had absolutely nothing to do with it! The lady who owns this house who we are now renting from was an avid gardener and we are reaping the benefits of her hard labor. All these gorgeous flowers have been blooming and it's been such a surprise to see what is coming up. The yard is Paul's domain so I sure hope he knows what to do to make this happen again next year. I sure don't. My mom has never had an interest in gardening and therefore didn't pass that love down to me. I enjoy looking at the flowers but don't care a thing about getting out there and digging in the dirt.

Green Eggs and Ham

There hasn't been much going on in the prairie lately so the blog posts have been pretty sporadic. Thought I would share some pictures from Dr. Suess week. Mrs. Leslie does the funnest things with the class. Here they got to stir up their own egg with green food coloring, then pour it in the pan and watch it cook. Everyone loved it!

Early Morning Walk

Mallory helped Uncle Bud take Callie out for her morning potty break. Mal slipped on her cowgirl boots with her nightgown and was ready to go!

Pecan Pickin'

Some people from the church who live right down the road from us gave us 50 lbs of pecans last week~! Yahoo!!! I was so excited! I love to bake and having pecans on hand is so fabulous! We took them to be cracked on Saturday and Aunt Carole, Paul and Mallory took the first shift at shelling them and putting them in bags. What a blessing to have been given these great little morsels!

Grandaddy visits one more time

My dad, aunt and brother came up this past weekend. We were so excited to get to see Grandaddy one more time before he heads back to New Zealand. We had a great weekend but I didn't take many pictures! These were taken Sunday morning before church. I didn't even have my make up on yet! I often end up putting it on on the way to church or when we get there and the kids head in for Sunday school. Anyway, we loved having the fam here. We went to Lambert's, played dominos, ate gumbo and went on the Rush tour in Cape Girardeau. Also ate breakfast at Boomland-our favorite!

Little Ladies' Man

Michael brought his teachers a rose on Valentine's Day again this year. I think it's so cute since he's a boy and all that. :)

Sweetheart Banquet

The church hosted its annual Sweetheart Banquet last week. Paul and I went all out and got in the spirit. He wore a red shirt and white tie which one guy said looked like "The Godfather" ha! I wore the bridesmaid dress from Missy's Valentine's Day wedding back in 2004. That was before I had two babies and I could barely breathe in the thing. When I told Missy I had worn it she said, "I told you guys you would be able to wear those dresses again" ha ha!!

Something made me laugh in this picture and I nearly busted out of the dress!
The crew transformed our gym into a beautiful setting. I wish I had gotten more pictures of the details like hanging chandeliers, etc.

I snapped a couple of friends' pictures at the end. This is Todd and Ashli Jenkins.

This is our music pastor and his family, Pastor Mark, Stacee, Haylee and Matthew Helton.

Roses!

Paul sent me these beautiful flowers on Valentine's Day. I was really surprised! In the past he has always brought me roses to the house and I have put them in a vase which is perfectly fine. I was sort of just expecting that again this year. He really couldn't send me flowers at work until now. It was only the second Valentine's Day that I have been working since we met. The first was the day of our first date back in 2003. We were to meet in Gulfport MS that night and Paul sent me some flowers at Evangel that morning.
That's my little desk in our classroom that they are sitting on.

This is Leslie, the teacher I work with. Her husband John sent her the same dozen that I got so we matched:)
