Sweet Home Alabama

The kids and I are in Montgomery visiting this week. I always try to get them down here to spend a week during the summer with my mother. She loves them so and I know she misses not seeing them more. We're just swimming and playing. We've seen a few friends and plan to have a get together Thursday night to see more. Here are some random iPhone pix from the trip so far.

Splish Splash we're getting ready for a bash!

Tomorrow is Michael's 5th birthday party! We're having a water party in the back yard and right now it's in the 60s outside! Yikes! When I planned the party it was way up in the 90s already so I just knew I would be safe. Well, at least it's not a wedding.

I saw the watermelon shark below on Pinterest and just had to do it for the party. I cut it out yesterday and will fill it with watermelon and gummy sharks as it is pictured.

Hard to believe my baby is turning 5. I will post more party pix after the big event. 

 

 

Fun Face Paint

The kids got their faces painted at the circus Monday night. We went for my birthday and had a big time. I'll post more pix later!

The City Pool

We're at the city pool for the first time. The kids were itching to come so even though we have a pool in our backyard I brought them. It's a bit of a treat for the official start of summer:)

Mother's Day Fun

We drove up to Cape Girardeau after church on Mother's Day to have lunch at a Japanese Steakhouse. Cape is the nearest city with lots of restaurants and shopping. It's about 45 minutes and is also Rush Limbaugh's home town. We walked in and happened to see our next door neighbors eating there too:) I had a wonderful day. I'm so thankful to be a mother.

Splish Splash

We bought this pool from our neighbors last fall and just got it set up this week. The kids are having a ball. It's so hot here and even though the water has been cold it doesn't bother them!
