We went to this candy's shop in Anderson when we were there. It had the best ice cream and all kinds of chocolates. Really good.

Grandpa Billy

We got to spend the week with Paul's best friend, Billy Franks, in Anderson last week at the Church of God convention. Billy is like a father to Paul and was his best man in our wedding. The kids call him Grandpa Billy. He is 83 and doing great!

Happy 4th!

We made our first flag cake yesterday. Was really fun and easy to make. I started out letting the kids put the fruit but sort of took over later!

Big Easy Revisited

Matte Boys

The Matte name is alive and well. Paul has four brothers, two of them have three sons each. Another has two sons. Then Paul and one brother have one son each. Then of all those there are already lots of great grandson Mattes:) Here are Paul and two of his nephews, Steven and Jeff. And their sons, Drew, Michael, Josh and Joey.
