Cousins

The kids and I went out to eat with some family the other night while here in Montgomery. Mallory and her second cousin, AnnaBelle, took this cute picture where Mallory is looking over at AB. Her mom, my first cousin Sonya, and I recreated the photo like the girls'.

Fun Ice Cream Joints

We went to a couple of neat ice cream places on our trip to IN, Frazier's Dairy Maid and Jimmie's Dairy Bar. I love these old fashioned, kitschy places so the fun is really all mine. The kids don't mind the treats they get either.

Riding to Anderson

We just got back from the North American Convention of the Church of God or as we call it 'Camp Meeting'. It's held every year in Anderson IN, near Indy. We always stop on the way at an outlet mall that has lots of these 50 cent rides. The kids enjoy them at this age. Paul and I were saying in a few years they will outgrow them and not want to do them anymore. Then I guess we will be actually going in the outlet stores looking for 'cool clothes' for back to school. Right now we don't mind rounding up the quarters we will need for the ride to Anderson.

Library Story/Craft Time

The kids always have a great time at the library during Storytime. They often do crafts in the older class and Michael got to sit in this last time with Mallory and our neighbor Lillian. They made these cute frog puppets.

Losing Teeth

Mallory's two bottom adult teeth had come in but the baby teeth weren't even loose so we had to have them pulled the other day. What most kids lose for free we had to pay 186.00 to get rid of! She was very brave and said she didn't feel a thing so that's good. She said, "Mommy, I know you are the tooth fairy but will you put some glitter under my pillow when you put the money so it will look like fairy dust?" So, of course I did. I don't know what the going rate for teeth is these days but we gave her 50 cents for each tooth. Hey, we already paid nearly 100 bucks for each one right?!

Hair yesterday, gone today

Mallory wanted her hair cut and as much as it pained us we had to let her do it. She wanted chin length but we compromised on the shoulders. She loves it and she does look cute as a button. I actually am proud of her for having her own opinion of her hair. Good for her.
