Turkey Time

Mallory helped her Uncle Joey stuff the turkey last Thanksgiving when we were in New York so she was anxious to do it again this year. I'm happy for her to do this with her Daddy!

Cracker Barrel with the Thorntons

I got to see my good friend Jeanine and her family last weekend. They live in the Chicago area so we don't get to see each other very often but occasionally we meet in Louisville at Cracker Barrel when they are driving thru to Montgomery where we are both from. Jeanine just had baby Trevor in April and this was our first time to meet him! Her daughter Rebeckah turned two in February. Jeanine and I went to church together, did lots of singles stuff during those years and were in each other's weddings. She and Steve married the first week of Feb 2003 and I had no knowledge whatsoever of Paul Matte at that time. He and I met a week later and were married in Oct of that same year!

Black Friday White Out

We woke up the day after Thanksgiving to SNOW! I had not heard a thing about the possibility of snow so was shocked when I got up that morning to go shopping. The kids had fun playing in it with my mother who was here for Thanksgiving. She wasn't prepared for snow play...notice her pj bottoms! ha!

Patriotic MIchael

Michael's preschool was invited to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and sing My Country 'tis of Thee at the local Veteran's Day ceremony a couple of weeks ago. Click here and then on the small picture to see a short video of their performance!

KY Book Fair

Paul was an author in the Kentucky Book Fair last weekend. We were very proud of him of course! You had to send in two copies of your book and apply to be a part so we were tickled when he got his invitation. The kids and I enjoyed meeting author Bob Shea whose book New Socks we have read many times. He autographed a copy for them which was really neat. The authors come from all over the country. Bob Shea is from Connecticut.

'Tis the Season

The kids got their first Santa photo of the season last week at the Candlelight Tour downtown. I have always taken advantage of these free Santa photos around town in past years. Last year I told the kids we were going to get our picture with Santa and Mallory said, "Not again." I plan to try and reign it in this year.

I know, I know

I have a lot of these posts on Mallory's birthday don't I?! We had a lot of mini-celebrations! She wanted me to bring chocolate covered strawberries for her class so these are pix from that

Free Scoop

We went to Baskin Robbins on Mallory's birthday afternoon to get her free scoop. She and Michael both chose rainbow sherbet (did you know that it is spelled sherbet and not sherbert? I mean haven't you your whole life called it sherbert? My brother recently pointed that out to me!). Paul and I both got rocky road.

Trick or Treating at the Governor's Mansion

It's always fun to stop by the Governor's Mansion to trick or treat on Halloween night. We went by on our way to the church's Trunk or Treat.
