Happy 4th and a prayer request

Paul rose his mower in the town Fourth of July parade on Wednesday. He had always wanted to do it and said it was a lot of fun!

On another note, my dad is in the hospital in New Zealand and is very sick. We were told it was dire and my brother got a ticket and was on his way when Daddy had a turn for the better! Praise the Lord! Bud still flew to NZ last night but it's under much better circumstances. Daddy has swelling in the brain which had led to him not being able to walk or talk. He has a lot of infection, shingles, myopathy, a little bit of early stages of Parkinson's etc. We were all so worried but after a wonderful outpouring of prayer he got better in one day!! Thank you Jesus! We are all supposed to go to Disney in a little over two weeks. Doesn't look like he will be going with us if we go at all. Will you pray for my dad if you think of him? Thank you!!!

Father's Day Dinner

Paul wanted Italian for his Father's Day treat. A friend suggested Bella Italia in Cape Girardeau and we really enjoyed it. Afterwards we walked down to the river. The kids love touching the water:)

Our Anderson Faves!

We always have to hit a few certain places when we come to Camp Meeting. Keep in mind we are here about a week so there's plenty of time to get in all this ice cream!:)

These aren't in order of the photos:

Lemon Drop Drive-in: awesome burgers, fries and shakes! There are only 3 1/2 booths and about 10 counter seats in the place so you might have to wait but it's worth it!

Gene's Root Beer: floats! They have chocolate and vanilla ice cream and Paul likes his root beer float with choc so Gene's is great for him.

Deluxe Donuts: Paul tells me it used to be a Dunkin and they still make the Dunkin donuts so I can get my favorite, the vanilla creme filled. Mmm!

Nana's Children's Consignment: I found this place years ago and always stop in to look around. This time I picked up a cute sweater vest for Michael for 99cents and a shirt for Mallory for a qtr.

Good's Candy and Ice Cream: oh this is really the best ice dream in town. So rich and creamy. The nice thing is we usually have a buy one get one cone coupon in our convention packet so Paul and I used it yesterday. I got coconut almond fudge. So yummy!

Shadyside Park: I always take the kids here to play when we're in town. We usually have some down time while Paul's in meetings so this is a great park for the kids to run around in. Yesterday while we were there the ice cream truck came and boy did the kids love that! I had to scrounge up pennies and dimes and nickels but came up with enough for them to each spend a dollar. They were so cute ordering their popcicles and putting their big handful of change up on the counter:)

Frazier's Dairy Maid: I found this place one year when Michael was a baby and Mallory was in Kids' Place. I would ride around with Michael in the car since there was no child care and I couldn't go to many services or activities. It has really good ice cream treats. I always get the turtle sundae and the kids get the blue moon ice cream.
