My mother's husband Lothar is German, born and raised there, the whole works. He is named after the Bavarian King Lothar. He makes a special German dish called Kaes
Spaetzle which is homemade noodles baked with cheese and topped with sauteed onions. He cooked it tonight along with German potato salad, cucumber salad and German sausages for some friends of ours from church. I made a German chocolate cake for dessert which I learned is only named for a man with the last name of German and is not really German at all! We all had a great time and enjoyed the wonderful German fare.
