The pool is open!

I took the kids swimming at our local public pool the day it opened Memorial Day weekend. I love this pool. There are no bells and whistles for sure but there's something nostalgic about these old city pools. For one thing, it's cheap, only 3 bucks for the swimmers (it was 2 when we first moved here) and I didn't have to pay to watch. It's close to our house. And the little kiddie pools are contained within a fence so I could just sit near the edge and watch. They even have a lifeguard at the kiddie pools. There are much nicer pools in the area that we also like to visit during the summer but this one, Juniper Hills, being over 50 years old, is sort of special.
