My little boy

It's official. I have a little boy who's on a sports team. Too fun. I remember when Mallory played on her first team (soccer as well) and she didn't really like it. I on the other hand enjoyed being at the games and bringing snacks and the whole atmosphere. So it was a little sad to think that might not be in my future since she wasn't crazy about the soccer. Then it hit me, "Michael." He was only about 15 months at the time and it came to me, "One day he'll be on a team and be playing sports." Here we are:)

Tornado Warning at Mallory's school!

They all crowded in the restroom and Mrs. Graves read a book to them while sitting on the toilet!

Update on Grandma June-revised

They are still running tests on June. New Zealand seems to do things much differently than we would in the states. They haven't even removed the mass yet and they've known about it for a while. My dad said the lymph nodes are enlarged so this isn't good news. Please pray for June as you think of her.

He Lives!

Today we celebrate Jesus! He's alive. He died on a cross to save us from our sin and then rose from the dead that first Easter morning. Thank you so much Lord for saving us! We are literally eternally grateful. This song was on my mind this morning. The words are so good..
I serve a risen Saviour,
He's in the world today;
I know that He is living,
Whatever men may say;
I see His hand of mercy,
I hear His voice of cheer,
And just the time I need Him
He's always near.

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives
today!
He walks with me and He talks with me
Along life's narrow way.
He lives, He live, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives:
He lives within my heart.

Happy Easter from the Matte family!!!
He is risen...just as He said. (Matthew 28:6)

Grandma June

Please pray for my dad's wife, June. She has a softball size mass in her abdominal area and is in a lot of pain. She will have more tests this coming Tuesday and hopefully have it removed as soon as possible. We love June and pray she is well soon. Please pray for my daddy too who is really worried about June understandably.

Cracker Barrel...I'm so glad you made it.

Frankfort just got a Cracker Barrel. Apparently it's been in the works for over 10 years but there was all kind of opposition for whatever political reasons there are for these sorts of things. But, it made it. Hallelujah. My friend Melissa and I met the day after it opened for breakfast and it was so good. Really, it was just like being in all the other Cracker Barrels I've ever been in. They don't change those things up a bit! Paul was having the van worked on nearby so he had the guy at the shop drop him off since he knew I was there. Melissa and I already had a two top table so Paul sat by himself in the other dining room. He and I happened to be checking out at the same time right next to each other and when I was done I stepped over and kissed him. He said, "Wow, friendly restaurant." It was cute. Then we told the cashiers we were married:)

I've been two times since for breakfast and am so happy to have a Cracker Barrel in town. Paul and I actually got engaged outside the one in Montgomery where I had dumped him on our second date!

Here's a CB tip for you: Did you know anyone can order from the kids menu any time? I asked the gal waiting on us if I could order just one pancake and she said "sure, just order it off the kids' menu". And I said "is that legal?" She said yes, anybody can order off the kids menu. She said it even says it on there. Sure enough, there right under the kids' meal heading it says, For Kids of All Ages. I love that. I love Cracker Barrel. Big Love.

Princess Wishes

I took Mallory to Disney on Ice: Princess Wishes a couple of weeks ago. We had such a fun Mother/Daughter night out. Special thanks to my mother, the wonderful Oma, for footing the bill for the evening. I wish you could have been with us Mother Jules.

I uploaded these pictures sort of in reverse. This picture is of the finale!

Be Our Guest...Belle is my favorite princess and I love Beauty and the Beast.
Mallory really enjoyed the show. I had taken her when she was maybe 2.5 but she doesn't remember it at all!
Me and my little princess
I bought Mallory this birthstone ring while we were shopping before the show. I didn't even know what her birthstone was until we saw these little rings on a display at the check out. Yes, they are the little ones that can adjust to your finger and yes, it was only $3.50. :)
The show was in Kentucky's famous Rupp Arena where the Final Four Cats play!
We ate dinner at Joe Bologna's before the show. It was soooooooooooo good!
I loved being with Mallory. We had such a good time but after seeing the show I wished Michael had come too. It was billed as Princess Wishes so I thought it would be all girl stuff but there were plenty of male characters, including Mickey himself, so I know Michael would have loved it. Maybe next time.

Photoverload

I just made up that word...it's really photo overload, or I have just uploaded nearly 600 pictures from our vacation and a few other things so now I need to go thru them all and see what I can share. Not that any of them are inappropriate for sharing. It's just that I have way too many to share!

Here are some cute ones of Michael on vacation. We pulled in to a Target in Gulf Shores and as soon as we got out of the car he said, "Mommy, take my picture in that red circle." I thought he was talking about the Target bullseyes painted on the ground and told him to get in one so I could snap the picture. He said, "No, this red circle over here." Then he proceeded to lie down in this red circle...

trying a different way

I am going to try to upload a picture in a different way than from my picasa account and see if that works.

This is Lisa Harper who is an author and speaker at a lot of women's events like Women of Faith. She was my big sister in our sorority in college...Kappa Delta. This was taken during rush in the fall of 1985...can you say 26 years ago?!Let's see if this picture goes away in the next day too...
